Our Philosophy
Our goal is to provide comprehensive breast care for all patients with breast health concerns, particularly those with newly discovered breast abnormalities on imaging studies or physical examination. We strive to provide a convenient and caring environment in close proximity to, and in collaboration with breast radiologists, navigator nurses, and genetic counselors. This reduces the time from diagnosis of abnormalities to biopsy and surgical treatment.
We believe in treating breast cancer through a team approach. That team includes not only the patient and surgeon, but also a radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, specially trained nursing staff, and when necessary, psychological and religious professionals and plastic surgeons.
Once a diagnosis of breast cancer is made, you will have the opportunity to be seen by several members of the team, and your case may be discussed at the multidisciplinary tumor conference. Following these consultations and discussions, an individual treatment plan is developed.
Most breast surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis. However, we prefer to work in the safety of the hospital setting where other specialists are available, should the need arise.
We are continually working toward decreasing the time between finding a palpable mass or having an abnormal mammogram and arriving at a definitive diagnosis. We think the team centered approach fosters a seamless experience for patients and their families.
We feel privileged to participate in the care of the patients in our community. We are committed to providing up-to-date, state of the art breast care. We hope that by achieving this goal, we can foster the healing process in each person we treat.
